Movie Summary
Based on Lois Lowry's Newbury medal-winning book The Giver, the movie takes place in a seemingly utopian society and follows the life of Jonas a young adult given the role of Receiver of Memories. Jonas's task is to receive memories from The Giver and help the communities' elders with future decisions. Upon receiving these memories Jonas is flooded with new feelings and seeks to make changes to his community.
